Michelle's testimonial

There are no words to describe how grateful I am for Michelle's support. I first came to her as a woman diagnosed with endometriosis and then found out I also had PCOS when we first began trying to conceive. I was scared, hurt, frustrated. She gave me hope. There were point's in our journey that I felt so let down by my body. She taught to me to trust it, to trust me. I attended regular reflexology sessions and we also practiced Reiki to unblock negative thoughts, past traumas and work towards healing.

 

I could always sit down with Michelle and be my true, honest self. I could talk about my jealousy of pregnant women, my upset when I realized month after month I was not pregnant, my dreams, my hopes....everything. She never judged.

 

Finally we were so lucky to conceive and Michelle continues to be there every step of the way, reassuring me, helping me continue on my path to motherhood. We are expecting our first baby July 2015 and we are unbelievably grateful to have Michelle as our Doula.

Samm's story

 

I'm not sure if I can adequately describe my relationship with Michelle Stroud in a small story, but I will try.

Our journey with Michelle started as fertility clients. After months of trying and two miscarriages, I was looking for something, anything to help us have a baby. Along came Michelle. She was so kind and gentle with my fragile state, but she was firm and confident in the things I needed to do to help me turn things around.  I followed the plan she laid out religiously. I ate what she told me to eat, drank what she told me to drink, took the supplements and even emptied out an entire room - to make room for a baby. And as the universe would have it, we got pregnant, and stayed pregnant this time!

I asked Michelle the day I took the pregnancy test if she would be our doula. And so began the second phase of our journey together.  Michelle was available throughout my entire pregnancy - she often dropped everything to comfort, reassure and listen.  She put in two over night trips to Peterborough hospital, as our babe thought she might like to make an early appearance, TWICE!  Finally, she supported me through a very long labour which ultimately ended in a c-section.  You would think that this is where your doula's duties are over, however, with Michelle it was like her job just began.

She helped us through a very traumatic postpartum period in all different ways. Foot rubs, visits, and she even made us dinner.
Since the birth of our daughter Michelle has still been a constant in our lives. She is always there to reassure and guide and help me along my new journey as a mom.

I am so proud to have had Michelle take this journey with me and feel so blessed to have her in our lives :)

I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have had Michelle Stroud as my doula. Words don't seem enough to express to her how much I appreciate everything she did for me, my husband and my son. The care that I received during pregnancy, labour and after the birth of my son was amazing!

Michelle was so kind and patient with my constant anxieties and worry during my pregnancy. She not only supported me as my doula but as a great friend too. I sent several texts and emails daily and she was always so quick to reply and put my mind at ease. The amount of research that she did was amazing. No matter how "high maintenance" I was acting she was supportive of me every time I called, texted or emailed.

She stayed with me through a long labour, supporting my husband and I through the entire thing. She was such a wealth of knowledge. I wouldn't have been able to stick to the birth plan that I had wanted if it weren't for Michelle.

After the birth of my son she still supported us with breast feeding (which I felt strongly about) and accompanied us back to the hospital for a check up. My son has also gone to see Michelle for a reiki session.

I am so happy that she was there to support the three of us through this exciting and stressful time. I am so blessed to have had her as a part of our lives.  She is the kindest and most compassionate person I have ever met and I love being around her.

I would recommend a doula to anyone that is pregnant or wanting to become pregnant as they will be the best support you will ever have.

Michelle Stroud, I remember the day I first met you like it was yesterday. I could have known you for a week, a month, or years and it still wouldn’t have made a difference. You still would have changed my life completely. You changed my life in the best way possible. I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am to have met such an amazing person, someone so caring, compassionate and loving. You may or may not know it, but I am a better person today because of you. You truly made me want to be a better person. You made me want to radiate joy, be generous, and be selfless and countless other things. You made me want to be like you because, in my eyes, you were, and still are, the perfect role model. You made me realize the true meaning to life and how we should approach every day that we are given. You made me realize so many things about life that I would never have discovered without ever meeting you. As for you, you deserve the world because you changed my life and the lives of so many others for the better. I have yet to meet someone else who has impacted my life like you have. Maybe there is a reason for that. As this life continues, I will always remember the impact you left on me. I will forever be grateful to you and will never be able to thank you enough for impacting my life the way you did.
